Superior Daylighting for Vadnais Heights Commons Grand Banquet Room

Partnering with Solid Rock Construction (Ham Lake, MN), we replaced them with eight Kalwall high-performance translucent panel skylights in their expansive 10,000-square-foot banquet room. 

The innovative Kalwall skylights have provided exceptional natural daylighting, lowered energy expenses, removed glare problems, improved the overall atmosphere, and enhanced occupant well-being.

They also solved the ongoing problems with water leakage and excessive heat buildup that had caused difficulties in the past.

While the owner LOVES the skylights 90% of the time. What do you do when a presenter wants to include slides in a presentation in the middle of the day?

In order to solve that problem, we added a sophisticated automatic shading system to the Kalwall translucent skylights to improve usability, allowing staff to fine-tune the lighting conditions to each event's specifications. 

This enables perfect visibility during audiovisual presentations, various lighting options for wedding ceremonies, and an appropriate professional environment for corporate functions.



This design approach maximizes the benefits of daylighting while providing Vadnais Heights venue managers with the flexibility to customize the space for any event’s unique requirements.
